Looking for free green resources? There is plenty of help all around!
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009Since our last blog, one of the biggest energy acts in history, The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 was passed by the House of Representatives on Friday. We already discussed last week about how the act encourages renewable fuels opportunities and requires major U.S. industries to reduce carbon emissions by 17% by 2020 and over 80% by 2050 compared to 2005 levels. This certainly makes our services at Green Rack Systems more relevant and valuable than ever. Here in California where we are located, we’ve been taking aggressive steps in pioneering several consumer driven eco friendly initiatives. For example, the proposed AB920 Assembly bill is designed as an incentive to encourage consumers to install solar panels. The bill advocates that special meters be placed in roofs to calculate the excess solar power generated by home panels, so that utilities can compensate individuals who generate excess power beyond their own needs. This has especially been a problem valid for many owners of California’s sprawling mansions who end up giving away surplus power for free . Another Californian green initiative is the launch of the E-Fuel Microfueler with the intention of installing ethanol distribution systems to produce organic fuel from wastes in California residences. Residents become a part of the eco movement by producing alternative energy from their own personal wastes. Then there is the California’s Digital Textbook drive to provide schools with a state-approved list of digital textbooks .Whichever State you live in, there are numerous Government and non-profit bodies that support green consumers and enthusiasts.
Here are some useful resources that could help you:
